Evelyn C. Noble, 92, of Urbana, formerly of Rittman, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 20, 2021, at Urbana Health and Rehab Center, following a period of declining health.
Evelyn was born on January 19, 1929, in Athens, Ohio, to the late Paul and Carol (Steele) Ayers and lived in Rittman since 1948. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1947 and married Clinton Noble on July 22, 1951 in Rittman; they were happily married for 60 years. She was employed by the City of Rittman Tax Department for 28 years before retiring in 1994 . Evelyn was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church in Wadsworth and she loved spending time with her family and going shopping with her sister Bettie. She often could be found outside in her flower garden and filling her bird bath and feeders. Surviving is daughter, Claudia Schonhut of Sumter, SC; son, Jerald (Rheta) Noble of West Liberty; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Clinton, she was preceded in death by her parents; great granddaughter Hope Armentrout; son-in-law, Dave Schonhut; brothers, Eugene, and Paul Joseph Ayers; and sister, Bettie Cline. Services will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman with Pastors Mike Decker & Bill Halter officiating. Burial will take place at Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Auble-Gillman Funeral Home to help defray the cost of final expenses.
