ASHLAND -- Virginia P. (Walmer) Hunter, 78, of Center Lane Drive, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 5, 1999, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home after a long illness. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, with the Rev. Jack Barker officiating. Burial will be at Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Navy & Marine Mothers Club of Ashland. She was born May 1, 1920 in Wayne County to Floyd H. and Edith Ann (Conkle) Walmer and married Wayne J. Hunter on May 1, 1942. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Dale E. Hunter of Woodbridge, Va., and Carol Ann (John) Barr of Ashland; grandchildren, Christyna Hunter and Angela Barr; a sister, Dorothy (Clifford
